What an exciting place Vang Vieng is!! So much fun with loads of stuff to do. I spent one week here and loved every second of it. Let me tell you about some of my Laos adventures.
There are plenty of Vang Vieng Tours available to choose from, so take your pick! I started my first Laos adventure with rock climbing. I was feeling quite energetic and I am glad I was because you need a lot of energy for this activity. There is a spectacular limestone landscape and it can be quite hairy at times if you’re not used to heights. Definitely worth giving it a crack though!
Next on the Laos adventure was to hire the buggies. (ATV’s) I needed to let off some steam and man what a great way to do it. This was so much fun, hooning around. You get a tour guide who comes with you and takes you through guided tracks, down dust dirt roads, through villages, to caves and waterfalls. What an adrenaline filled day this was. This Vang Vieng Tour was certainly one I will remember. At the end of the day I was covered in dirt and needed a good scrub in the shower.
The next morning I woke up after a nice sleep in and had some breakie at the hotel then headed off for the next Laos adventure. I headed to the Kaeng Nyui Waterfall. I am glad I chose to go in the rainy season as apparently they are not that great to look at in the dry. The jungle walk to the falls was quite nice and the falls themselves were quite spectacular. I am glad I made the effort to come here; it was really peaceful to stand by the falls and watch them for a while.
Next on the list before I called it a day was to visit the Blue Lagoon. WOW is all I could say. This Vang Vieng Tour just got so much more amazing! You must take your bathers and I recommend coming towards the end of the day so you can relax and unwind. The water is amazing, crystal clear. You get quite hot on the walk up there but it’s worth it when you can dive into the icy lagoon after. I recommend using the rope swing; you will have plenty of fun.
The day has come to an end, time to head back to the hotel and rest up for the night, plenty more Laos adventures to be had tomorrow.
